KTE.energy

Energy. Innovation. Independence.

“We create energy that makes a bigger impact
for people, regions, and a sustainable world.”

What is KTE.energy?

Transforming south africa

KTE.energy represents a new generation of large-scale energy projects in Africa. One of the world’s largest privately initiated renewable energy projects is being built in the Northern Cape – a place where sun and wind become green molecules and South Africa paves the way to a carbon-neutral future.

Redefining energy production

green energy for everyone

85,000 HA Property

Located in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa (55,000 ha owned by KTE and long-term lease agreements for remaining 30,000 ha).

6 GW Renewable Energy

Combined Usage of Photovoltaics (PV), Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) and Wind which will harness the power of nature to drive progress towards a greener future.

3.5 GW Green Hydrogen

Production facility powered exclusively with renemable energy from own site with water supply from Orange River and seawater desalination plant in Western Cape Region.

Technical masterplan

explore energy grounds

KTE.energy takes advantage of the exceptional natural conditions of the Northern Cape with an annual solar radiation of over 3,000 kWh/m² , combined with constant wind speeds of over 8 m/s.

This unique combination enables one of the highest energy yields in the world and creates the basis for a permanently stable, CO₂-neutral power supply.

Project overview

in detail

Wind Power

Wind Power

Recent wind studies show exceptional onshore winds on the order of magnitude of an average wind speed of up to 8 m/s, peaking at night

Solar Power

Solar Power

Exceptional natural conditions of the Northern Cape with an annual solar radiation of over 3,000 kWh/m²

Green Hydrogen

Green Hydrogen

Green hydrogen is produced from solar and wind power in modern electrolyzers . This serves as a starting material for green ammonia and e-methanol
